“The change in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group do not seem truthful and therefore the co-chairs should come to a common agreement,” the director of the European project of the International Crisis Group Sabina Fraser, said in an interview to Azerbaijani Salam News agency when asked whether France should cease its activity in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. Let us note that after the adoption of the law on criminalization of the genocide denial on part of France (December 22) many opinions were heard from the Azerbaijani and Turkish sides that France cannot be unbiased in the Minsk Group. “This matter won’t be solved only with Turkey’s wish. The final decision will be made by Ireland, which submitted the duties of chairmanship of OSCE,” said Fraser. After the adoption of the abovementioned bill by the French Senate the Turkish foreign affairs minister Ahmed Davutoghlu stated that if France continues its mission in the Minsk Group then Turkey should also become a member of that Group. When adverting to this matter Fraser said that this is a very complicated process, “As of the matter that France should be replaced by Turkey in the Minsk Group then I should say that this is a very delicate and difficult process. France is against that and is planning to continue its chairmanship.”
