A few days ago based on the decision of the executive body session of the Republican party on Monday NA chairperson will become the deputy-chair of the NA Samvel Nikoyan and the latter’s post will be filled by the spokesman of the RPA party and the secretary of the faction Edward Sharmazanov. Quite many opinions were heard about these appointments and it’s even spare to mention to what extent career-caser Edward Sharmazanov conforms to his new post in the parliament with his qualifications and merits. Same could be said about almost all the other statesmen of Armenia. However, it is not only the appointment of Sharmazanov that caused the society of Armenia to get once again disappointed about the legislative body. It turns out everything is the same. Sharmazanov is going to retain his post as a spokesperson of the RPA after his appointment to the post of the deputy-chair of the NA. Based on the hierarchy of posts Sharmazanov is going to take on the 4th top position of the country, who in the event of the absence of the RA President, Prime Minister and Prime Minister is going to take on the duties of the President. And this statement is also going to reconcile his current post with the post of the spokesman of the Republican Party of Armenia. It means that based on the last post he has to respond to the calls and questions of the journalists at any time. For example, during some international delegation meeting a journalist can technically call him and ask, “how would you comment on the fact that one of the RPA members slapped a woman at some party of a criminal big shot or named one of the opposition politicians an animal while being drunk?” In fact, this comes to prove that the government doesn’t care about the formalities and the legislative body is merely a body for them to stamp their decisions about the re-distribution of property. On this case, the parliament’s chairman or deputy-chair might as well be appointed a bodyguard of one of the oligarchs.
