Yesterday in the Liberty Square the regular rally of the Armenian National Congress took place, which was also the last rally of the year. It in fact outlined the plans which the ANC intends to implement closer to parliamentary elections 2012. And during the rally the key point wasn’t at all the joint declaration of Serzh Sargsyan’s impeachment, which had been advertised for weeks. It was yesterday adopted by the participants of yesterday’s rally. As it was expected the declaration was a legally formulated document, which the ANC elaborated to create a more effective pre-election resonance. The main messages of the rally were expressed in the speech of the ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan, which would be hard not to consider as clear suggestions of collaboration addressed to the Prosperous Armenia. Moreover, this was so evident that Ter-Petrosyan requested and even more accurately threatened not to consider this his personal opinion (the principle of “who’s not with us is against us” is already uttered by Ter-Petrosyan for those who don’t favor these statements of the ANC. So it means that anybody, who construes these statements not on behalf of the ANC serves the state administration). Thus, Levon Ter-Petrosyan by presenting his “own opinion” (as thought another opinion exists in the ANC) stated, “"The conflict between the RPA and PA is a fact that cannot be denied or neglected by any serious political force. And from the point of political developments, it doesn’t matter how the conflict will end up," he continued. "If suddenly the PA is forced to reconfirm its commitment to the coalition memorandum, it will not mean that the party will be bound by the document: it can again withdraw from the document, though the fluctuations may smear the party’s reputation. Anyway, the PA will be defamed if it does not separate from Robert Kocharyan (Armenia’s second president) and shrink from the responsibility for the March 1, 2008 bloodshed. The party will also lose its image if it agrees to run in the parliamentary elections with the RPA, as the latter’s younger brother. It is impossible to imagine a greater abasement or self-destruction for the PA. Surely I cannot predict how long the conflict will last, but if the PA turns out to be willing to quit the coalition and struggle for free and fair elections, the ANC will be ready to discuss the possibility of cooperation with the PA. To prevent all possible manipulations, I must say that this is not an offer of cooperation addressed to the PA, rather, it is a theme for political speculation and analysis. The chief evil for this country are not businessmen or oligarchs but the corrupted government system. businessmen and oligarchs are simply their servants and inferiors. Authorities deliberately make them the target of hatred, trying to divert public attention from their own crimes.” Thus, at this point Ter-Petrosyan personally offers the PA to deflect from the coalition and participate in the elections with the ANC in return promising to draw the bloodshed organized by Robert Kocharyan in 2008 from the PA. This is the only precondition of the ANC. Up until recently these developments that seemed almost impossible according to Ter-Petrosyan fully fits in the current political situation, by assuming that the possible reunion of the pro-Russian ANC and PA may create a certain balance with the pro-western Serzh Sargsyan’s RPA. And when these scenarios are being evolved and become in favor of the Russians the principles become secondary. So do the slogans (the ANC has only unofficially refused its slogan, “No to Tsarukyans”) and the dignity of the ANC leaders, who have been beaten up by PA members and many other things.
