Authorities are afraid of ANC

According to the former prime-minister, the main changes to the tax package have been made following the speech of former prime-minister Hrant Bagratyan at the ANC’s demonstration on October 28. Specifically, he believes that the notion of progressive income tax has been included in that package of changes due to his speech and recommendation. The same concerns the taxes for luxury items, mining and vodka excise tax. “This means that the opposition, I mean myself too, is telling the economic policy agenda to the government to fulfill,” said Bagratyan. However, he believes even if they take it into account, they do not do it in a duly manner. For example, Bagratyan has recommended to adopt a luxury tax first of all for real estate, but not cars with price over 90k dollars. The minister of finance Suren Karayan has informed journalists that next year they will also discuss the possibility of including the luxury tax also for real estate property. Hrant Bagratyan believes this is a message to him in answer to his critics. “Even though we are not in the parliament, they are afraid of the ANC,” said the former prime-minister.
