Crisis not behind the door yet

“We have gathered the heads of village communities to discuss serious issues. These people may think that the crisis is behind the door,” stated Serzh Sargsyan during the first conference of village communities referring to the speech by Jean Michel Hap, the head of Armenian office of the World Bank and added that nobody said that the second stage of the world crisis is in the country. “It’s not right to deliberately create bad expectations. Experts do not have common opinion related to this issue. We are thankful that you always warn that there is a crisis, and we accept the fact, but it has not reached our country”,-stated Serzh Sargsyan. Jean Michel Hap informed that over 60 % of portfolio of World Bank is in the rural areas, mentioning that Armenian economy faces the chaos arising, form the crisis in the Euro zone. According to him the situation gets worse as a result of increase of food prices. The agriculture in the Republic of Armenia faces challenges. According to “tert.am” website the deputy prime-minister Armen Gevorgyan after Serzh Sargsyan’s speech stated half seriously. “One may assume that the World Bank will increase financing in Armenia after Jean Michel’s speech”.
