During a recent visit to France the president of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan participated in Charles Aznavour’s concert in the Olympia concert center in Paris. The concert was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence, which made this important cultural event more interesting. However, there is a problem that during the past twenty years we have not been able to distinguish cultural events from political ones. As a result, Armenians know Aznavour not as a talented musician who is famous in the entire world, but as a famous Armenian. Thus, in consideration of this fact now Aznavour is Armenia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Switzerland and permanent representative in UNESCO. By the way, it has become a taboo that people cannot say anything about Aznavour’s professional activity because he is Aznavour, and that’s all. In fact Aznavour does do diplomatic work Switzerland or UNESCO, and according to our information his diplomatic car with diplomatic plate numbers is even used by his son. (as Aznavour does not visit the Embassy often). In contrast, Aliyev’s wife has done so good work in UNESCO that this institution approves almost all initiative on part of Azerbaijan. The problem is not in Charles Aznavour; even in private conversations he has expressed discontent about taking on these positions and responsibilities. The problem is in the fact that the state of Armenia has delegated these responsibilities to a famous person with Armenian origin, and the origin does not make anyone responsible to support Armenians, for example support Armenians instead of Arabs or Jews. However the problem is the perception of arts in a very simple manner. For example, Alessandro Safina was planning to give press-conference in Yerevan, which was failed. The problem is that when journalists asked what Safina knew about the Genocide, as they usually do during all meetings, Safina left the room by saying “Did I make a mistake to visit Armenia?” As far as we continue pushing people forward with this complex, the world will recognize us with famous people such as Kim Kardashian, or maximum as the best example Charles Aznavour.
