During this week the most unclear piece of information was the one published by the Russian media, according to which they are the cheapest electricity producers. It would be for sure because they have both gas and oil. In addition, they have big rivers too. Their hydro-electric stations are old and sometimes may go out of order, but in Russia it is not a common practice to calculate human and financial losses, thus this system works effectively too. It is a big country and for the past 150 years the number of the population does not exceed 150 million. Even more, the situation with demography is not so good. Russian nationalists think that there is some struggle of third powers against their nation, which has resulted in the existing situation. In addition, the people of this country are curious what is happening in other countries. For example, several years ago Chubays said that Armenia was a good country, especially in terms of covering the debts against energetic resources in time. He knew that everyone used to pay in our country, especially ordinary consumers. It means that while working as the head of RAO EES Chubays was dreaming of having the same punctuality of payments on part of Russians as on part of Armenians. For example, England succeeded in tax collection during the tenure of Richard the Lionheart, after which England became a very powerful country. The situation in our country was different. In 1993 Armenia’s electricity supply was stopped. It was recovered in 1996, when everyone was convinced that for temporary supply they had to pay. Since that time they pay normally. Now the situation is a little different. Russia is surprised as it turns out that Armenia is the fourth country among cheap electricity producers. Armenia produces electricity with all accepted methods such as atomic stations, hydro and thermo electric stations. The prices of all stations besides the hydro electric stations are conditioned by Russia. The reason is also due to the fact that the newest ones were renovated and reconstructed not due to Russian technologies. The HES of Kanaker that had been reconstructed with a borrowing taken from Germany was privatized to Russian companies without a serious economic calculation. This means that Russian companies are fully free in calculating the price of produced electricity. On the one hand, we are paying the debt to Germany, and on the other hand the Russian companies are making us calculate their investments in the energy price. These are the payments for investments that have not been made. But nobody cares about it. Russia announced that Armenia is the fourth cheapest electricity producer country. Russia has not annulated or delayed any debts Armenia has had. However, now they announce that Armenia produces electricity almost with the same status as Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
If we look at the announcements of the Russian party concerning our electricity payments, we will not understand anything, especially we will not understand how much the Russian consumers pay compared to the Armenian ones. If we take into consideration also the fact that Armenia pays the debts in time, we will understand why Armenia is the fourth country with cheapest electricity production. The rates of Armenian agriculture processing are comparable to the rates of Russian metal production companies. Accordingly, we should analyze this sector because it means that either the reports on the agriculture sector turnouts are violated or the Russians are falsifying something. Let’s compare. I do not know any Armenian farmer that would live like European farmers.
