The French “Perno Ricar” company informed us that they had foreseen spending 70 million dollars for the privatization of the Yerevan Brandy Factory back in 1998. However, by the order of President Robert Kocharyan, the Armenian authorities sold the factory for 28 million dollars (without even holding a session and breaking the law). We found out from the Armenian press recently that within the framework of French legislation until 1999, French companies could legalize any bribe given to a foreign company in order to win the state transaction. Those who would like to reveal the secret of the privatization of the Yerevan brandy factory (why it was sold for more), we suggest reading the 1998 financial report of “Perno Ricar”.
