There is collaboration

Armenian Parliament Speaker welcomes the current dialogue between the authorities and the opposition. "I hail any kind of collaboration. And I see that they [the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC)] also say that such collaboration is necessary. Any kind of collaboration is in the interests of people," Hovik Abrahamyan told A1+ in Victory Park. The parliament speaker says he has suggested transforming the parliament rostrum into a platform for discussions and criticism. "It would be better to return from streets and discuss reforms, voice problems and opinions. If there is a reasonable point of view the authorities are always ready to listen to it, regardless of the fact who it was made by," he stressed. Speaking of early elections, Abrahamyan noted that they discredit the country. “There is no need for early elections, as there is only one year before the next elections. Both the opposition and the authorities should better prepare for the elections in this short period of time," he added. Hovik Abrahamyan highlighted the amendments to the Electoral Code and said they are attempting to involve the opposition in the discussions over the proposed amendments. "It is important for us to have the Electoral Code approved by all political forces. We are attempting to put an end to all possible wrongdoings, and that’s very important," he said. Abrahamyan believes that the ANC will be represented in the next parliament.
