The UN permanent coordinator in Armenia Dafina Gercheva has condemned the incident in the Republic Square. “I think such things should not happen,” said Gercheva. She said that even though she did not know the details of the incident, she was against any attempt and violence against people who wanted to exercise their rights. “As far as I know the prime minister has instructed to investigate this case in a duly manner. As a permanent UN coordinator I assure that the UN condemns any violence against citizens. Meanwhile, when commenting on such incidents we can listen to the opinions of both parties,” said Gercheva and added that neither the authorities nor the city administration office ignored this incident but they offered alternative solutions.
