The head of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC, Alireza Zaykami, reportedly said this week that Iran plans to export 1.5 million liters of gasoline and diesel fuel a day to Armenia through the pipeline. “According to the agreement Iran will daily provide 750 thousand liters of petroleum and 750 thousand liters of diesel,” he said. Let us remember that last month the minister of oil of Iran Masud Mir Kazemi announced that Iran and Armenia are planning to build a new oil pipeline, which will increase the volume of importation of Iran’s energy substances to Armenia. The minister also stated that the pipeline will start from the Iranian Tavriz city and will stretch till the borders of Armenia. According to Fars agency the pipeline with 203 mm diameter and 36 kilometer length will be ready by 2014.
