According to the rumors of the pro-governmental circles during the Monday session of the coalition (which didn’t produce any official press release) the president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan submitted a text of announcement to the chair of the Prosperous Armenia Gagik Tsarukyan and suggested that he should sign it. According to that announcement first the Prosperous Armenia should declare that it’s going to endorse the candidacy of Sargsyan during the 2013 presidential elections and secondly, during the parliamentary elections 2012 it should run the elections with a joint list with the Republican party. According to the same source, after refusing the announcement the Prosperous Armenia should deflect from the coalition. Tsarukyan succeeded in postponing his response till Friday; that means tomorrow. Yesterday the RPA and Prosperous Armenia MPs avoided making any comments in this regard. Let us recall that according to various publications during the past days Tsarukyan was in Moscow, from where he returned yesterday evening. In the beginning of the week Robert Kocharyan, the former president of Armenia, was also in Moscow. According to certain information the latter met with Vladimir Putin. So it’s not excluded that the matter of signing on or off the announcement has already been determined in Moscow. A day before that Serzh Sargsyan has had a telephone conversation with the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev. Let us mention that yesterday the session of the executive body of the RPA took place. One of the issues on the agenda was the RPA-Prosperous Armenia relationship. The details of this session, which lasted till late night, are not publicized.
