”I am happy to know that there are people in Armenia who actually think that I have a chance to run for president. However, I think that it is too early to talk about that, especially since this time the parliamentary elections will precede the presidential elections,” said Serj Sargsyan as he responded to the question given by one of the American journalists. He added by saying: ”The decision will be made depending on how trustworthy the political force supporting me will be.” As for the Karabagh conflict, Serj Sargsyan made it clear that Armenia is aimed towards solving the conflict peacefully. “If Azerbaijan follows this too, we can start talking about all types of issues, including the security zone.” The Defense Minister of Armenia then called on all Azeri to not restart war because ”in any case they are going to cause great damage to both Armenia and Azerbaijan,” said Serj Sargsyan. In regard to national security, there are two battles facing Armenia according to Serj Sargsyan. ”First of all, we must get rid of all dangers of starting a war as well as improve relations with neighboring countries. Until today, the Azeri are talking about solving the conflict through war. The second battle is to improve our government system by all means.”
