Yesterday when speaking to our reporter Davit Karapetyan, the spokesman of the minister of defense Seyran Ohanyan confirmed the rumor that colonel Igor Gordienko has submitted a resignation letter to the personnel department of the ministry, which will be presented to the minister on the coming days. According to our source close to the government, Gordienko was forced to submit a letter of resignation. Let us remember that recently the Wikileaks website had publicized information, according to which in 2003 Armenia sold arms to Iran and because of that US soldiers and citizens were wounded and killed. According to our information Gordienko’s resignation is just a show to the US that Armenia is punishing the ones, who sold weapons to Iran. According to our source close to the government due to the same reason several other people will be fired from their posts from the ministry of defense. However, not all of them had to be necessarily involved in the weapon trade with Iran. Let us remember that Gordienko is the person, during the wedding of whose son several months ago Nissan cars (bought for the state needs) were used.
