As we have informed in the near future the Ombudsman of Armenia Armen Harutyunyan may be appointed to the post of a chief UN envoy in the Central Asia, residence located in Bishkek. Two days ago when speaking to our reporter Harutyunyan, who is Geneva now, denied this information by definitely saying that this information is far from reality. The facts that we have at hand, irrefutably prove that Harutyunyan has already been appointed to this post. Moreover, during the period of December 13-17 when he was in Geneva, he had the occasion to meet with his colleagues of the UN office and other envoys. Harutyunyan had already met with the secretary of the chief envoy’s office Valery Monnet. The latter had introduced Harutyunyan to the rest of the staff. Harityunyan will submit this post in the beginning of 2011. It is only surprising why he is persistently denying this information. This is noteworthy not because he is going to submit this new position in the UN but also because in the context of the new developments in the political life of Armenia the name of the candidate of the new Ombudsman may originate quite interesting developments and processes.
