The head of the Heritage party Raffi Hovhannisian welcomes the decisions of the RA president to fire the mayor of Yerevan and the minister of justice. In the meantime he said, “But it would be more desirable if this had had a legal proceeding and the judicial body would have decided the level of punishment and guilt.” He also added that this practice should be applied in any case when the statesmen abuse their duties. “Many people are currently being beaten by the members of government but as the victim is not a state official this matter never becomes a theme of discussion of press conferences. If this is a signal for future work style then this is a very good thing.”
