The Territorial Electoral Commission of #34 precinct of Shirak Marz didn’t consider the application of mayor’s position candidate Martin Sukiasyan regarding the local government elections of October 23. As we were informed by the head of #34 PEC Sayat Minasyan, the application didn’t comply with the legal procedures. And in these kinds of cases the fourth provision of the RA Electoral Code Article 40 provides a right not to consider these kinds of applications. “According to the Electoral Code, these kinds of applications must be presented by candidates or their proxies. In this case the application was presented by his pre-election headquarter. There are principles provided by the law which had to be followed”,-said Mr. Minasyan. Now M.Sukiasyan has a right to apply to court within three days, and he is going to do so.
