New privileged ones

As a rule it is mostly the big businesses or statesmen that avoid taxes in Armenia. It is known that a range of state officials have privileged conditions and terms at hand. Recently in the list of the privileged appeared Dvin Concern. This company owes the state over 600 million AMD. Let us recall that Dvin Concern has the monopoly of importing saltpeter to Armenia, which is done through Azotinvest Company. Besides that the owner of the company Rafik Sargsyan has had a great input in the property alienation of a number of objects. Residents of numerous apartment buildings, specifically several buildings on Pushkin street, Teryan 11 and 13 were evicted with the order and hand of Rafik Sargsyan. Currently in these areas construction of office buildings, shops, public food objects and apartments is taking place. Moreover, as the residents assure, Sargsyan had paid incomparably less price for the apartments than the actual market price and the evaluation was conducted as though independent however actually it was done through a company, which belonged to Sargsyan’s holding, named RGM Group. Let us mention that according to the data of the State Revenue Committee, the debt of Dvin Concern as of the end of the last year amounted to 289 million AMD. The Committee promised to inform us today to what extent has Sargsyan’s debt increased. By the way, according to our information Sargsyan is planning to become a Legal State member.
