Usually she paints all day long. Even if she doesn’t paint, she tries to learn something new in designing from TV programs. She wants to become a good painter and designer. She improves her skills in such a way. Armine doesn’t hear well, that is why she doesn’t go out of the home often. Before, people, who listen well didn’t want to make friends with her, dumb people didn’t do that either. She couldn’t make contact with people just because she didn’t hear well. If speaking people didn’t do that because she didn’t hear well, dumb people did that because she could speak. She can speak thanks to her mother. Her mother, Mari Pahutyan is the president of “Will and courage” NGO. She thinks that the fact that these kinds of children are alienated from the society is because of their parents. Mari pointed out that her child was an example and petitioned the parents not to alienate their children from the society, not to think that these children are not members of society only because of the fact that they don’t hear well. Mari has believed in this and thanks to this her child can speak and create. And also thanks to this belief she could found “Will and courage” NGO and now they take care of these kinds of children.
Armine liked painting from her early childhood. Mari Pahutyan says that people with hearing defects have a will to create, they do well in painting. Armine does well in painting now. She used to attend the painting school of Yerevan, but since she couldn’t hear well she couldn’t understand what her teacher was saying. “Several years ago I wanted to enter the painting university after Terlemezyan, but I was afraid I couldn’t do that because of the fact that I didn’t hear well”, – said Armine. Now she is not afraid of this, she even tries to find a way to study abroad. She is sure that it will be easier for her abroad. Her outlook has drawn the attention of many painters and designers. Her paintings mostly have sharp corners. During an exhibition in France a painter interpreted these sharp corners as an expression of complaint. But Armine’s character is more based on her belief. Though she is alienated from the society (like a lot of other children like her) she did her best to make contact with the world with the help of her pictures. Her will to live is so strong that she wants to become a mother. “If I have children I will do my best to be better and to succeed more”, -said Armine. Sometimes Armine is afraid of uncertainty, but she leaves these kinds of ideas on paper. “God, please show me a way to understand your will. Our destiny is in your hands. You are the owner of our destinies. Please help me go out of this uncertainty”, -she had written in her diary. Though she has no friend except her mother, Internet gave her a chance to find friends for her all over the world. Thanks to her belief and will she studied English, thus having one more chance to make contact with the world. The problems of Armine and her virtual friends are as different as the problems of developed big countries differ from the problems of undeveloped small countries. “Once one of them asked me to send her an Armenian gesture vocabulary. I told her that we didn’t have that kind of vocabulary, but she didn’t believe me”, – said Armine. Later “Will and courage” with the help of these kinds of people published a gesture vocabulary. In fact Armine was the reason for founding “Will and courage” NGO, involve people and work to solve the problems of these people. All the children who are taken care of by this organization have the same problems that Armine could overcome with the help of her mother. They try to solve their problems with the help of this organization. Most of them fall in love and get married here. Till now only dumb people got married. People that don’t have hearing or any other defects are not ready to get married with them yet. This organization does its best to overcome this problem by educating them and providing them with jobs.
