Provision of visas may be eased and the agreement on easy provision of multi entry visas may enter in force sooner than the EU Associated agreement. This was said at a joint press conference with deputy foreign minister Karine Ghazinyan by Gunnar Vigandi, the head of the department on Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia of the European Commission foreign relations office. “I know that this is one of the biggest concerns of the people of Armenia. We will try to get a mandate from our member countries to start negotiations on two agreements to ease the visa provision process, as a result of which the visa fees may be reduced as well, and privileges for getting multi entry visas,” said Vigand and emphasized that if an agreement was reached on the visa regime this agreement might enter into force sooner than the Associated agreement. Yesterday there was a launching meeting between Armenia and the EU delegation in Armenia on the negotiations on the Association agreement. Foreign minister Edward Nalbandyan was the coordinator of the negotiations from the Armenian party and the main negotiator was deputy foreign minister Karine Ghazinyan.
