Thank you letters to be sent not only to the Russian king

Even though the recent announcement of the presidents of the US, Russia and France has become a topic of discussions, in fact it is no news. Of course it does not mean yet that Armenia should not worry about it. It is the vice versa as with this ultimatum-announcement the leaders of the super-states and the OSCE co-chairs reaffirm the anti-Armenian solution of the issue, which can be obligated under the cover of the beautiful words about “peace”. Despite the diplomatic formulations and words, the announcement says that the Armenian armed forces should be taken out of the liberated areas (according to the authors of this announcement, “occupied” areas), exiled people should be returned to their places of living and Karabakh is to be given an interim status, Karabakh will have a corridor connecting it with Armenia, and the final status should be decided by polls which will be legally bending, i.e. a semi-referendum in an undefined term. All these provisions, besides some small differences, were included in the statement of l’Aquila dated July 10, 2009. The presidents referred to this statement too. However, it was something new that the Armenian foreign minister made a thank you statement addressed to all these three presidents simultaneously. “We appreciate the support and efforts of the presidents of the OSCE co-chair countries Russia, the US and France to the conflicting parties to solve the problems,” said Nalbandyan trying to express his “thanks”. However, Nalbandyan’s statement does not include any words such as “but” or “however” or any reservations. It means that the Armenian government agrees with all the mentioned provisions without any reservations. We wander whether any of the Armenian government representatives will dare give explanations to their people besides thanking the leaders of the super-states only. Or, maybe the authors of that announcement have guaranteed to “direct the public opinion” or will “peacefully ignore the abuse of the rights of this society”.
