Yesterday the Foreign Relations Committee of the NA made a decision to form a working group, which will develop the procedures of the discussion of the Armenia-Turkey protocols. Besides that yesterday the chair of the NA Hovik Abrahamyan admitted the proposal of the head of the mentioned committee Armen Rustamyan, according to which the protocols will be discussed in the NA big session after the completion of their discussion in the committee headed by Rustamyan. Draft amendments to Armenia’s Law ‘On International Treaties’ have been put on the agenda of the four-day parliament sessions that open Monday. The proposed amendments concern the suspension or termination of procedures related to the signing of international treaties and agreements. According to this the RA President and the government can annul international treaties at any moment. “If we take into account the standpoint of the Constitutional Court, where certain restrictions were made in the application of the protocols because I think the government has realized that there are certain tricky points in the text of the protocols,” commented the former chair of the NA Tigran Torosyan.
