Yesterday a long-expected event happened in the political sector of Armenia. The pro-government wing of the Henchak party, being led by the secretary of the party Sedrak Achemyan and a new member Vahan Shirkhanyan, organized a meeting in Tsakhkadzor and made a decision to dismiss the party secretary Lyudmila Sargsyan from her position. This event, which was named “extraordinary meeting”, was organized in a semi-conspiratorial conditions like the Dashnaks usually do. The imposter Henchak members have only informed Lyudmila Sargsyan about the decision of removing her from office. It is expected that the authors of this initiative will announce about appointing former member of Heritage party Vardan Khachatryan in the mentioned position. The secretary of the Armenian wing of the Henchak party Lyudmila Sargsyan says in fact this is a violation of not only the charter of the party, but the Armenian Constitution as well. “I don’t exclude the possibility that if they continue this way I may apply to the US Embassy and ask them to make the citizen of their country who is interfering in the internal political life of our country to stop that. No foreigner has the right to be involved in internal political affairs of this country. Achemyan is trying to take the power of a party in Armenia, which is a serious violation of the law on parties,” says Lyudmila Sargsyan. To note, the purpose of separating this party is the plan of creating controllable traditional party consisting of people from a non-traditional party, the Heritage party. As we can see from the strict methods of separating this political party, it has become an important goal for the government. Maybe the reason is the fact that the authorities are stronger now than ever.
