We are Tolerant

The government has found a new method to stop corruption in the country. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan suggests to establish an ad hoc in charge of monitoring the anti-corruption activities. This ad hoc will consist of known people. As we know the government well, it is not excluded that in several months they may establish another commission consisting of unknown people to monitor the work of the above mentioned commission. However, if corruption still exists they will establish new commissions to monitor the works of the other ones. The experience shows that such commissions are useless. The Public Chamber is the best example. In fact the idea is good itself as the society should control the government system. It turns out to be a deadlock as the Prime Minister says the corruption is the society’s fault. “The society does not fight corruption in a duly manner. The society is tolerant to corruption,” said the Prime Minister. No one can oppose to the fact that the Armenians are tolerant to corruption and a number of other things as well. However it is very hard to imagine what the status of officials would be or where they would be now if the Armenian society was not so tolerant.
