Tending to tender revolution

The Armenian Revolutionary Federation has come up with another anti-revolution initiative. ARF board member Armen Rustamyan has published a document entitled “Directions of Activities”. In fact this document does not bring any new information and proves again how “constructive” this political power is, especially concerning the relations with the authorities. The goal of the ARF’s initiatives is to raise the role of the opposition. Certainly the document does not mention what type of opposition they are advocating for, but it is clear that they want to build a constructive opposition, which corresponds to the model proposed by the ARF. It is worth mentioning that in the recent period the authorities have used the term “increase the role of the opposition” very often too, and now the ARF is using the same term which has been used by the same political powers against which they are supposed to struggle. As for the relations between the ARF and the authorities, ARF’s proposals are a new word in politics and political science generally. The ARF claims that the main activity for now is “to get prepared for the upcoming elections”. One should not think that it means the ARF wants to get prepared to run for and win the elections but they are getting prepared for a revolution. “It does not mean that we are getting prepared for the upcoming elections, the elections may be extraordinary as well. We are planning change of the power according to this plan. We are preparing the change of power through beautiful, normal and smart way,” said Rustamyan. However the ARF does not demand the resignation of the president; may be if they do so it may not seem smart and beautiful. As a result of the mentioned document published recently the ARF shows that they prefer the second one of the opportunities to be a constructive opposition. In addition, the hint concerning extraordinary elections is an attempt to raise their price during the political deals with the inner political powers (maybe external ones too).
