The government has presented the law draft about “state property privatization in 2005-2007”. They suggested privatizing 48 companies in that period. We still don’t know who the owners of these companies are going to be. Time will show.
We tried to ask some questions to the directors of those companies. It turned out that some of them didn’t attend their working place at all. Some of them didn’t want to talk to us. Maybe they think that they will not be shareholders or directors of those companies in the future.
Anyway, there were kind people who tried to answer to our questions. According to Mrs. Sousanna Sargsyan (head of “Analytic” CJSC, Ministry of Environmental Protection) it was their own idea to privatize this institution: “I have been the director of this company for about 15 years. And during this period we have not received money from the government. Now we have no choice but to privatize the institution”. The head of “Transplan Institution” CJSC (operates since 1971) Edward Martirosyan said that their company had never received money from the state budget. The head of “Ecoservice” CJSC said that it wasn’t surprising for him because it was already ten years that the company property had been put up for sale. But what is more interesting, he didn’t know anything about the fact that their company had been included in the privatization list.
Anyway, hereby we would like to list some company names that may be privatized in the nearest future: “factory of composition materials” CJSC, “Veber” CJSC, “Garni Ler” OJSC, “Information & marketing center” CJSC, #5 children’s policlinic, the dental policlinics of Abovyan, Hrazdan, Charentsavan, etc.
