Today 8-9 political parties will publish a joint statement against the Armenian-Turkish initial proposals on developing relations. The authors of this announcement will demand to exclude the provisions on creating a commission of historians, recognizing the mutual borders and several other provisions. These parties will also announce about their commitment to closely cooperate if there are any developments concerning the issue of Karabakh and Armenian-Turkish relations they don’t stand for. According to our information, the political powers that have joined and signed under this statement are the ARF, the People’s Party of Tigran Karapetyan, NT, RAK, Heritage, the Democratic Party, and several other parties. The ARF is coordinating this initiative. In our previous publications we have informed our readers that the authorities are planning to establish an alternative opposition power to oppose to the mainstream opposition power Armenian National Congress. This union will play a key role in the inner politics not only in connection with the issue of the Armenian-Turkish relations but other affairs as well. The ARF has submitted an offer of cooperation to another traditional party SDHK but has not received an answer yet because the Armenian office of this party is against this proposal. However the secretary of the SDHK central board Sedrak Achemyan has reached an agreement with the authorities and promised to solve the problem. According to our information, instead of this favor the authorities have promised to give some businesses to S. Achemyan.
