Yesterday during the ceremony of Iftar Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that his country’s position has not changed and that the border with Armenia will be kept closed unless the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is resolved. “If we do not see Armenia taking action, the border will not be opened,” said Erdogan. “Turkey finds that the regulation of the NKR conflict is pretty close. If we do not see concrete steps on part of Armenia there can be no word about the opening of the border,” he added. This statement of the Prime Minister of Turkey was followed by the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. “Azerbaijan welcomes this statement of the Turkish Prime Minister, by which the standpoint of Ankara is once again ratified,” said the official representative of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Azerbaijan Elkhan Polukhov.
