During yesterday’s press conference Hovhannes Igityan, board member of Pan-Armenian National Movement and former Head of RA Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, noted that the regulation of Armenian-Turkish relations is dictated by the US, which is proved by the fact that the original protocols of the Armenian-Turkish relations are in English. Igityan pledged that “There is translation in Armenian-Russian and Turkish. The final outcome will rely on the English text,” reads the last sentence of the protocols. He finds it unprecedented that the protocols were written by a US official and only then given to the sides for translation. An RPA member Rafik Petrosyan as a response said, “Nobody denies that the US is mingled with the process because as the US states they are interested in the quick resolution of the unsolved issues in the region and maintenance of peace.”
