“Serious discussions are going on. The project is still in the elaboration stage but the rumors that are being circulated by the media are raw materials,” yesterday told our reporter the RA Minister of Justice Gevorg Danielyan when answering the question on the possibility of amnesty. We reminded Danielyan the recent statement of the former Minister of Justice Davit Harutyunyan, according to which “the articles, which are brought up against NA MP Khachatur Sukiasyan and the chief editor of the Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper Nicol Pashinyan define from 7 to 10 years imprisonment and the possible amnesty won’t affect them.” In this regard, we asked Danielyan whether the possible amnesty will spread on the searched ones. “I don’t know who said what but as a rule the amnesty covers the fled ones as well but with certain exceptions. This is not a material of an intensive discussion,” said Danielyan by adding that the amnesty of 2006 also included prisoners sentenced up to 10 years of prison. He also informed that till May 15 the document will be submitted to the RA President Serzh Sargsyan. By the way, according to our information Sargsyan’s initiative of amnesty will be submitted to the parliament on June 18.
