“The police have fired high rank officials after the unrest of March 1. Is it connected with illegal activities on part of the police officers?” asked the chairman of the ad hoc looking into March 1 Samvel Nikoyan to deputy chief of the police Hovhannes Hunanyan. “If yes, why haven’t they been punished so far?” asked Heritage faction member Anahit Bakhshyan. Hunanyan said that many high rank officials had been fired from the police, and Grigor Grigoryan and his deputy were among them as well. He says that the mentioned officials have not been punished yet because the case of March 1 has not been closed yet and it is not clear yet whether the police officials and commanders were guilty. Journalists asked whether the police officials had been fired because of inadequate actions on their part during the events of March 1. “They are not blamed of being guilty in March 1 but for not being able to coordinate the forces and organize the actions in a due manner so that the results were not so tragic,” said Hunanyan.
