Two opinions

“The report is not unbiased. Even in consideration of the fact that the ombudsman should criticize, his estimations are not true,” said RPA spokesperson Edward Sharmazanov to radio Liberty when commenting on the ombudsman’s annual report. ANC coordinator Levon Zurabyan says that the report is not unbiased either. “Due to political reasons they refused to give objective estimations to the reality. All what is reflected in it is introduced as the shortcomings of the inherited system. In fact, Armen Harutyunyan managed to take on the role of the advocate of Serzh Sargsyan’s administration,” he said. Concerning the critics of the government and opposition concerning his report the ombudsman says, “We are not writing the report to satisfy anyone. It is our objective analysis of human rights protection in Armenia.”
