Those who gave the order must be punished

Human Rights Watch has published a report on the Armenian presidential election 2008 and the aftermath unrest in Yerevan on March 1-2. “Armenia yet should punish the police for disproportionate power to punish demonstrators one year after the clashes resulting in the death of ten people,” writes the report of Human Rights Watch consisting of 64 pages. The report calls on the government to punish the police for violations and consider the cases of every policeman separately. “Where there are proofs showing that power application was out of the permitted legal limits all people who committed violations (including those giving orders) shall be persecuted and punished by court,” reads the report.
