It’s is the deadline of the second term established by the commission in charge of investigating the events of March 1-2. Sukias Avetisyan and Gagik Abrahamyan, who are RPA faction members, have applied to the parliament to prolong the deadline with one more term till September 15 (6,5 months). During the past 8 months the commission did only the half of its responsibilities and left the job for discovering the murder circumstances for the investigation body and fact finding group. If the mentioned two institutions fail to find out the circumstances resulting in the death of 10 people killed on March 1 the commission will have to close down the case. It is clear that the commission member and Samvel Nikoyan, the chairman of the commission, don’t want to take such responsibility. Concerning the investigation Heritage faction member Anahit Bashkhyan asked, “What did you find out concerning Cheryomukha 7 weapons? How much time does the commission need to find it out?” She says that the commission has not invited the incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan and ex-president Levon Ter-Petrosyan to hear their opinions as well. “We thought that we were close to discovering something because it was found out that some people used Cheryomukha 7 and the bullets resulting in death were found as well. It was remaining only to find out from which guns the bullets were shot. However as a result of expertise they said that it is impossible to do it,” said Nikoyan, thus bypassing the question concerning inviting the first and incumbent presidents of Armenia. The issue of delaying the deadline will be discussed by the government soon.
