The British Council organization in Armenia is organizing training course in England on March 9-15 in the framework of the Women in Politics program. The training will be entitled Female Advisers. The goal of the program is to raise the capacity of female legislators. The manager of the program Armina Mkhitaryan yesterday told our journalist that the program will include MPs from the three parties of the parliamentary coalition. However, strangely enough none of them is a woman. According to Mkhitaryan, the program will host RPA MP Armen Ashotyan, Artyusha Shahbazyan from the ARF and Ernest Soghomonyan from the Prosperous Armenia. Besides the mentioned people 20 non-parliamentary party members will also leave for England. The 20 other participants are fortunately female. To the question why only men MP were chosen Mkhitaryan answered, “The parties themselves offered nominees for the program. We applied to them and they gave us names.” However, yesterday we found out from the coalition factions that they received the invite letters concretely for the male MPs. It means that the letter offered that exactly these people were included in the program. Nevertheless, something is strange here. The tricky thing is that only the MPs from Armenia will be male unlike the MPs of other countries. None of our MPs asked why they were selected.
