The speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan signed a decree on setting up a working group which will draft amendments to Article 225 and Article 300 of the Crime Code of Armenia. Under these articles charges were brought against most of the people arrested for March 1. The head of the working group is the chair of the state and legal committee Davit Harutiunyan who is also the head of the Armenian delegation to the PACE. The working group was instructed to involve the ad hoc committee to study March 1 in the activities of the group. The chair of the working group was instructed to offer proposals by February 19, 2009. The working group will also include the members of the ad hoc committee on the investigation of March 1 events. The chair of the ad hoc Samvel Nikoyan yesterday said that the viewpoint of the ad hoc will be presented in the working group by ARF member Artsvik Minasyan.
