Today the court of general jurisdiction of Shengavit community considered the Case of 7 again, and based on the process we may assume that the proceedings will be delayed again. By the way, by coincidence just after this shameful court proceeding PACE Monitoring Commission co-reporter John Prescott and George Colombier visited Armenia for the purpose of evaluating the situation in Armenia before the upcoming session of the PACE to take place on January 27. Even the government officials don’t know how they can convince the PACE delegates that they have fulfilled the requirements, specifically the requirement to release the political prisoners. Furthermore, basing on the announcements of certain officials that if the PACE deprives Armenia of the vote it will not be the end of the world we may assume that they have got used to such possibility and are preparing the public for such scenario. It means that the government has two choices, either to release the political prisoners or make Armenia a degraded state out of the international institutions, and it seems that the government has chosen the second option.
