Yesterday another noteworthy thing happened at the session of the commission on investigation of March 1 clashes. And again the hero of the day was the deputy chief of police Sashik Afyan. The latter yesterday stated that on March 1-2 they only obeyed the orders of the former chief of police of Armenia Hayk Harutyunyan. The astounding thing is that approximately three months ago the same deputy chief of police Sashik Afyan during the session of the same commission was trying his best by using the eloquence of his Armenian language to convince that he was the commander of the police operation on March 1, which caused the death of 10 innocent people. Of course yesterday’s statement of Afyan was so much better than the self-confession that he made on August 5. However, in this story the interesting thing is not the contradicting behavior of Afyan but the fact that he received an order to change his “testimony.” By the way yesterday Afyan said that he doesn’t know whether the orders of Harutyunyan were consented with Kocharyan or not. Most probably in near future Hayk Harutyunyan will answer this question. By judging from the current testimonies of the government that answer will be positive. And as this chain goes on it is not excluded that some day Robert Kocharyan will also accept the invitation of the commission. All we have to do is wait whether he consented his orders with Hayk Harutyunyan or not.
