Wrote in a group

“A group of people had worked on the president’s speech,” told us spokesman of the Foreign Affairs Minister of RA Tigran Balayan about the speech of Armenian’s president Serzh Sargsyan during the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly. Reminder: Some parts of Sargsyan’s speech were strongly criticized. In particular, former Parliament Speaker Tigran Torosyan spoke about that by complaining about the people, who wrote Sargsyan’s speech. “One of the main principles of the international law – the right of self-identification has become a reason for nations’ expatriation, ethnical cleaning and genocide. We are far from the thought that every attempt of self-identification must be followed by separation. The separation must deserve the consent of all the parties of the conflict,” declared Serzh Sargsyan. And as Torosyan wrote in his recent article these words directly contradict not only the Armenian interests but also the international norms on national self-identification. “I have expressed my opinion about Sargsyan’s speech in the media and from parliament. I stressed the positive solutions that have been offered regarding conflict resolution and foreign policy in general. As any politician Mr. Torosyan also has the right to express his opinion, which may not match with the opinion of the president or any other politician in the country. However, it is unclear why the opinion of Torosyan about the NKR conflict resolution and Armenian-Turkish relations differed from his past assessment. I think it would be better for Torosyan to raise his concerns in past as well,” said the press secretary of the Armenian Republic Party, NA MP Edward Sharmazanov when was asked to comment on the article of Torosyan.
