“The decision of the Court is a victory for freedom of expression. It should also serve as a lesson to all governments inclined to arbitrary interpretations of Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which guarantees this essential freedom.” This statement was made by the secretary general of the Council of Europe Terry Davis, who commented on the verdict of the European Court in the Armenian A1 plus TV channel. “The verdict of the European Court of Human Rights puts a full stop on the saga of the Armenian government, which refuses to give license to the A1 plus,” said the secretary general.
