“In the post-election period most of detainees have been arrested because of political reasons,” said ANM board chairman Ararat Zurabyan in his interview given to the radio Liberty in the prison of Kentron community police station. The latter says that the discussions on legal topics are in fact aimed at disorienting people from the real political processes. “The people here have been isolated and arrested for their political views, activities and opinions because the illegal authorities have been undermined, and this illegal government chose that way of payback. We have chosen these rules of the game because we are not going to give up or leave Armenia,” said Ararat Zurabyan. In answer to a question concerning his plans for the future Zurabyan said, “I think that I will continue my activities whether I am free or in prisons because this understanding is very unclear in Armenia. In Armenia people don’t know whether they are free or no, the society itself is not free.” A. Zurabyan says that the processes that are happening are normal processes. “The authorities will have to participate in a dialog. At the same time, the topic of the dialog will be the issue whether they will leave the power at once or through phases… I think that now Armenia is not in the same shape as one year ago. And I believe that in one year Armenia will be totally different,” said the ANM board chairman. The latter is accused in attempts of power usurpation and organizing disorders followed by killings.
