Yesterday president Serzh Sargsyan approved the new government and finished the process of government formation. Armen Gevorgyan has been appointed deputy prime minister and territorial management minister who had been serving as the head of the president’s administration and secretary of the National security Board. Hovik Abrahamyan has been appointed head of the president’s administration. Gourgen Sargsyan, MP elected under the majoritarian lists of the Legal State party, was appointed minister of transport and communication. The ministry of finance and economy has been renamed to ministry of finance. Tigran Davtyan, who used to serve as the head of the Armenian development Agency, has been appointed minister of finance. The ministry of trade and economic development has been renamed to ministry of economy. Nerses Yeritsyan has been re-approved in the economy minister’s position. A new ministry of emergency services has been opened. Deputy chairman of Legal State party Mher Shahgeldyan has been appointed minister of emergency services. The former minister of transport and communication Andranik Manukyan and the former head of the government administration Manuk Topuzyan have been appointed advisers to the president. Levon Martirosyan has been appointed assistant to the president, and Samvel Farmanyan has been appointed assistant to the president. It is not clear yet who will be appointed in the police and national Security services heads’ positions.
