The EU general secretary Javier Solana has congratulated the new president of Armenia. “The Euro Union has followed the processes after the February 19 election in Armenia and is aware of the problems existing in the beginning of your tenure. Meanwhile, we are appreciating your petitions to start a dialog in the transition period. The EU is ready to support Armenia to meet those challenges. We are processing independent investigation of the post-election processes, following the process of releasing the arrested politicians, open dialog with the opposition, as well as we are attaching importance to full recovery of independence as a component of raising trust,” reads the letter.
