Yesterday the Heritage party applied to the Administrative Court and demanded to cancel the March 1 decree of President Robert Kocharyan regarding the emergency state. According to the Heritage among all the other restrictions, the prevention of democratic activities, such as the media operation contradicts the RA legislation as well as the requirements of the Human Right Convention. As a result of that the operation of the websites of independent and opposition news agencies, which the party finds limitation of the right of citizens to receive free and unbiased information, is against the mentioned principle. In its application the party calls for the cancellation of these provisions in the decree and demands the immediate recovery of the websites.
