The president of the EC ministers’ committee, the foreign affairs minister of Slovakia Yan Kubish estimated the Armenian presidential election during a press conference at the Armenian ministry of foreign affairs yesterday and said that they are basing on the report of the OSCE/ODIHR mission. “It is a report, which reflects the overall quality of the election. I think it is an important announcement. Meanwhile, there are political processes in the country, and I want to accept that the government is trying to pay attention to details and I hope that the government will take lessons from the comments of the international community and will undertake critical steps to improve the environment,” said Kubish. He says that if the OSCE/ODIHR report shows that it is “a step toward democratic development of the country”. “There are some problems and shortcomings but the general estimation is that it is a step forward. I strongly believe that there will not be further tension and it is important to get rid of brute power by all means,” he said.
