According to the preliminary information of the RA CEC published by the CEC chairman Garegin Azaryan, Serzh Sargsyan has won the presidential election just during the first round. Garegin Azaryan said that the protocol of preliminary results had been signed by 6 members out of the 8 ones. ARF representative to the commission Hamlet Abrahamyan has expressed a special opinion. The representatives of the LS and Heritage parties have not taken part in the commission sitting. According to the CEC’s information, the voter turnout is 1.670.656, 863.544 citizens out of which have voted for presidential candidate Serzh Sargsyan, 351.306 – for Levon Ter-Petrosyan, 272.256 – Artur Baghdasaryan, 100.876 – Vahan Hovhannisyan, 20.939 – Vazgen Manukyan. It is very interesting that the chairman of the National Unity party Artashes Geghamyan has been given fewer votes than Tigran Karapetyan. Karapetyan has received 9754 votes and Geghamyan – 7473. Arman Melikyan has received 4359 votes, and Aram Harutyunyan – 3092 votes. According to the Electoral Code, the CEC will finalize the results no sooner than in seven days after the election if there are any complaints concerning the results received from precinct electoral commissions.
