Yesterday President Robert Kocharyan delivered a message to the people of the RA and NKR on the 20th anniversary of the NKR movement. “The NKR movement was a peaceful and legal demand. It was succeeded by manslaughter, deportation and wide-spread military actions. It turned to a national liberation struggle because of the demands mandated to us. The Karabagh war left numerous heroes and required casualties. However, it has also tamed the strong will of our people and made independence as an inseparable factor in our lives. The independence of the NKR is not only a means to maintain our identity but also the only firm guarantee of development on our own land. The generation of the movement is unfamiliar to any other status differing from the independence of the NKR. In the process of state building the NKR has registered serious achievements. Those include the development of state structures, democracy strengthening, economy development and industry. Once again I congratulate you on the 20th anniversary of Karabagh movement and express my sincere gratitude to the ones, who have done something useful for the progress of the NKR. I wish you peace, prosperity and new achievements,” said Kocharyan in his message.
