On Saturday during a rally in the Freedom square of Yerevan presidential candidate Arthur Baghdasaryan announced that he had received a call threatening to kill him. However, A. Baghdasaryan did not inform any details concerning who called him and how, but he said that if anything happened to him the authorities would be the ones to be responsible for it. “I am ready to die, to give my life in favor of Armenia,” said Arthur Baghdasaryan and assured that no one could terror him. Yesterday several candidates expressed their opinions concerning this announcement. “I think it is a pre-election trick. If there has been such thing, he could apply to the police. I asked the police in the morning and they told me that there had not been any applications so far,” said ARP candidate PM Serzh Sargsyan. In addition, Vahan Hovhannisyan said that those who are ready to sacrifice their life in favor of our country could do it in Karabakh. By the way, Tigran Karapetyan is the only presidential candidate who has condemned the terror.
P.S. Yesterday the RA general prosecutor Aghvan Hovsepyan instructed the Police to institute legal proceedings to find out the details of the incident mentioned in Arthur Baghdasaryan’s announcement. The general prosecutor’s office has not received any letters about the incident from Arthur Baghdasaryan.
