Yesterday said Serzh Sargsyan in Avan community when trying to respond to Ter-Petrosyan’s statements. “A tired leader can reach power only through intrigues and fragmentation of people. A leader, who is full of evil and revenge cannot attain serious results,” stated RA presidential candidate Serzh Sargsyan when meeting people in Kanaker-Zeitun community and didn’t specify which candidate he meant. But in general, according to Sargsyan, only the candidate, who is freely and legitimately elected can be a good leader of a country as an “honest leader is a responsible leader and without sense of responsibility a person cannot fulfill this important function.” In the words of Sargsyan he can be criticized for many things but no one can say that “I don’t keep my promises.” On Saturday Serzh Sargsyan has managed to meet the voters of Arabkir community in the park located near the Mergelyan institute. About half hour prior to the rally the Kasyan-Komitas Avenue was closed. According to the patrol officers there was a huge crowd of people. “They have even gone beyond the sidewalks and reached the end of the street. There are over 13000 people here,” the patrol officers said. On the stage as usual “famous stars” were singing and dancing but this time singer Flora Martirosyan (a resident of Arabkir) was at the rally too. This time Sargsyan made his speech 15 minutes late because of technical malfunctions. The young people who were standing in the front rows were waving their scarves reading “Onward Armenia” and were from time to time exclaiming onward Armenia. And the ones, who had concrete issues, were gathered next to Sargsyan. After the technical malfunction was set Sargsyan started his speech by applying to the gathered people. “If this happened to some other candidate they would say it is conspiracy.” “The most important thing is that we will be able to conduct free and fair elections on February 19. That is extremely important in order to be able to start to implement our platform right after elections,” he said. Sargsyan said that a few hours ago he gave a piece of advice to a young man, who was at a rally in Kanaker-Zeitun community, who approached to him and asked how he can orient who to vote for because everyone is saying so many good things. “I told him to recognize the candidates through their experiences, their deeds and only then make your choice. If someone thinks that if they vote for Sargsyan they will have an easier life he/she is mistaken. I promise to work more and serve as an example to others,” stated the presidential candidate and added, “We won’t let anyone to fragment us and that way try to make their lives easier. The times, when inexperienced people were governing our economy, are gone. The times of learning from our own mistakes are gone. We will reach a good Armenia. We will create an environment of respect in our country. There can be no positive results though threats and provocations.” In the words of Sargsyan not only the times of the inexperienced are gone but also “sharp promises” because our people don’t believe in every single promise. “I am sure that there is no one, who thinks that our lives are deteriorating. I just cannot imagine how someone can believe that and strive for the leader’s position of the country. I am ready to listen to the sharpest criticism if it is fair and is close to reality. But if they don’t criticize they just say that everything is black. There are no arguments. I don’t accept such people. But it doesn’t give me grounds to say that I am going to make the ones, who attack me “bums” or persecute them after I get elected. And it doesn’t mean that these people are not going to feel good in our society. I should try to communicate with these people, convince them that the negative disposal won’t bring them anything good.” According to Sargsyan the most important thing is the conduct of free and fair elections so that the leader of the country would spend his time on solving important issues fro the country and not how “to bring the power back or maintain it whatever it takes.” After Sargsyan’s speech the residents of Arabkir tossed pigeons balloons in the air. Yesterday, presidential candidate Serzh Sargsyan had a meeting with residents of Avan Community, which gathered 12-13 thousand people. “It seems that the president’s function is to make certain people “bums”. The third President of Armenia cannot pronounce senseless and groundless thoughts and publicize imaginary figures. He cannot squander promises in anticipation of winning votes only. What society do you long for? Do you want to turn directly to your superiors or do you want barriers on your way? Do you long for a president who will frankly present you the country’s problems or a president who will always go back on his promises and bring groundless reasons for his failures?” According to Sargsyan the request for the people’s vote must not be considered offensive or pertinent because “we are not begging your vote to reach my own goals and give part of my country to some other state.”
P.S. By the way, in Arabkir community an elderly woman approached Serzh Sargsyan and offered him a raspberry jam and said, “I brought this for you to drink so that you don’t catch cold when speaking all the time in cold” and later presented him a small wooden cross and said, “Dear son, let this cross protect you.” Let’s also mention that in Arabkir community Sargsyan was escorted by the head of Arabkir community Hovhannes Shahinyan, MPs Armen Mkhitaryan, Levon Sargsyan, former MP Artak Sargsyan and others.
