The presidential pre-election official campaign commenced yesterday. Candidates will have an opportunity to use free and paid air time on the national TV channel starting from tomorrow. Ex-president Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s campaign manager Alexander Arzumanyan has told our correspondent that this delay in providing air time on the national TV channel “is conditioned by certain technical problems, but it is clear that it has political reasons”. The problem is that Levon Ter-Petrosyan and his supporters are organizing a rally today and they were going to announce about it on the air of the national TV channel. By the way, almost all the TV companies besides the national TV have made an announcement concerning this rally. Yesterday we were informed by the national TV company that they were doing monthly works and that the mentioned delay had no political reasons since they had finished those works by the time defined by the Central Electoral Commission. According to them, the CEC has issued a decision stating that H1 is to provide air time to candidates starting from January 23. “They shouldn’t look for a black cat where there are no cats,” we were told by H1.
